The instructions are easy to follow and we were in a position to put it together in less than 10 minutes. You do have to fit the seat liner and hood yourself however, we found it was not difficult. It simply requires some patience while feeding the harness straps into the slits in the padded seat liner. The back of the seat is a medium-sized storage pouch, but it's not big enough to hold a change bag.
